What is in an image?


Isn't it a pity
Slogging all life
To please and make good
Alas! Sad Icons!
Masquerading
Veil of niceties 
Rotting inside
Stinking poor souls!
Oh poor souls! Set them free
Why confine?
For the names you may earn
Not a penny’s worth!
Choices given, to be true self
Why not live!
Why run after image pours?
Which are not you!
Oh brethren! how I wish
We could laugh at ourselves
Kill our egos
And carry it light..

    Reminds me of Hamlet's line...."I have heard of your paintings too, well enough; God has given you one face, and you make yourselves another." Though Hamlet said it of women it speaks for the entire mankind!

    We put on a glittering facade but,
    "Rotting inside
    Stinking poor souls!"...we live in appearances...live for appearances...build comfortable images...strive to hold on to it...even believe in lies which we have spun for ourselves...:-)

    Superb choice of words which accentuate the spirit of semantics and the gist of the idea...inspiring and beautiful poetry pygma:-)

    well what i understand by this is that one should search the real happiness which is for the soul and not in the fake and worldly image which comes with like money etc that we are after and we fake our happiness... nice work :) have a nice week :)

    hard hitting truth.... why be a someone when we can be our own selves....

    this made me think...every morning we get up and wear a mask and then start our day... Not many know our true selves..
